![]() If you have a bad bit in the high end it can fail on install and yet work fine most of the time. As you install the OS will use more and more of your system ram until all of it is used. Sometimes on disks with a lot of data the DVD reader reads fine in the middle of the disk where the data starts but as it reached the outside it starts to fail.ģ) Bad memory. If you have a different computer try it there - if you get the same problem it's likely a bad CD but in most cases we see, the CD is fine.Ģ) A bad DVD reader. ![]() ![]() As Larry said it's a check sum error and it could be caused by a variety of problems:ġ) A scratch, finger print, crack, or simply a bad cd from manufacture.
