I chose a specialization in AI for my B.Tech and informally (haven't switched course, because I can't) have shifted my focus to more open source software because the field of AI research is good but the way it is being used (and invasive data collection) does not match with my ethics. Of all the vacant job listings I have looked at (for a fresher like me), 99% of them are somehow related to crypto, decentralization, blockchain etc. I am still in my B.Tech but searching for jobs to understand the skillset that is needed.
